The user experiences a computer-generated world, displayed on
a monitor, in which the user can navigate and interact. The scene
presents a patient, an X-ray machine, and a detector (film). Just
as in the real world, the user can perform radiographic examinations
of any part of the body.
The simulator immediately presents geometrically correct radiographs
from the positions of the patient, X-ray machine and detector. The
user communicates with the simulator through a 3D interface. The
interaction and navigation is facilitated by displaying the scene
in stereo, producing a 3D image. The manoeuvring of the simulator
resembles the way ordinary radiographic examinations are performed,
making the use of the interface both intuitive and easy.
